Gibralter Rock has long been a party spot for the local kids, and it is often littered with trash and has long been marred by graffiti (esp. "the Party Hole"). Climbers have periodically cleaned up. With the recent explosion of graffiti at the top of the bluff, it is time to show this place a little love again.
Gibralter Rock is a State Natural Area and a unit of the Ice Age Trail. Although climbing is not currently allowed here, it was climbed from the 1960s through the early 1990s. We are actively advocating that's its closed status be reevaluated, and the WDNR has recently taken a small step in this direction.
